D P Hopkins®, Inc. stands for David and Paul Hopkins, who manufacture the D P Hopkins®, The Hopkins® and LouZee® banjos.

The LouZee banjos have been an amazing success. However, there are banjo players who want one of our instruments, but prefer a different design or other options that are not offered on the LouZee. Because the LouZee fingerboards were designed by Mike Longworth, and are largely a tribute to his skills as a luthier, we do not alter his design. Instead, we have introduced the Hopkins line of banjos, with different inlay patterns and options.

All of our banjos feature custom Tony Pass wood rims.
